NEC's I-Stand
An Information
Kiosk
I-Stand
is a computer-based kiosk providing convention attendees with
information about NEC's tradeshow booth.
The I-Stand's Main Menu is an
overview of the entire booth. From here the attendee can pick a
zone of interest. First used at Telecom95, the largest
telecommunications tradeshow in the world, an independent
consulting firm rated the I-Stand and its companion CD-ROM best
of class at the show. Screen Example
The Viewpoint screen shows where
each I-Stand is located. If the I-Stand is idle, an animation
attracts the attention of passersby. Arrows at the lower left
provide an easy way to navigate back through the
screens.
A screen depicts the show floor as
it would be seen from the point of view of the selected I-Stand.
There is a set of thirty Viewpoint scenes showing the view from
each of the thirty I-Stands.
When a product is touched, product
information is retrieved from a central server. Video, pictures
and text are available for hundreds of products.
