John B. deLorimier, Jr.
Artist, Animator, Art Director
John is a native Californian who has made his career both in traditional and computer-based art. Upon leaving college, John began painting in oils and created many murals around California over a five year period. He returned to school and ultimately received a Masters of Arts degree from San Franciso State University in 1979.
After graduation, John had various art jobs, most notably working for a silk screen printing firm creating the designs for video game cabinets. In 1986, he discovered the VideoWorks animation software program while creating a newsletter on the Macintosh. After learning this program, he was hired by Apple Computer, Inc. to help create an interactive tour for MacDraw II. This connection with Apple has continued to the present. He also expanded his client list to include other major corporations, providing them with computer design services such as interactive tours, speaker support, illustration and various art projects.
In 1992 he incorporated with Alan Weiler under the name Kallisto Productions, Inc. With Kallisto, John has continued his work in animation and computer design and has been the art director and lead artist for several major CD-ROM-based interactive productions. John has a special expertise at creating and animating characters-- both original concepts and licenced properties.
John is an expert at many software programs including Photoshop, Painter and various 3D programs. He is also a master at using Macromedia Director to author animated presentations.
